Some of these songs are collected from odd corners of the world, and it would hardly be surprising if they were discovered in some old sea chest. Perhaps, some day they will! In truth these songs come from Australia, New Zealand, England, the States and all places in between. One dates as far back as the 1850s, many are based on poems from around the early 1900s, while others are contemporary. There are songs of the stevedores, the tall-ships, tramp steamers, sprees ashore, canal boats and river steamboats, an abandoned fishing fleet, and a tribute to one of our sea music friends who recently passed away.
